What Causes Pain In Left Baby Toe?

hey, my name is chemi, i broke or fractured my left baby toe over 2 months ago. i was hiking with sandals, my left foot slipped and dropped about 30cm,twisted outwards and hit a rock. i had really bad bruising , iced it, buddy taped it, walked with sandals, the works. i have it x-rayed, they said there was no breakage anywhere. i went to an orthopedist a few weeks later and he said there might be a fracture or ligament tear, and continue the treatment ive been doing. its been 2 months since the incident, and for the past 1.5 weeks the pain has severely incresed. i hit it around the head of the 5th metatarsal (right under the pinkie toe), and the pain generates from there. its a dull aching pain on the outer middle part of my left foot and it extends to my outer ankle and lower shin area. It wont go away and ive been doing nothing for the past 4 days because of it. i barely walk on my foot but the pain hasnt decreased AT ALL! im at a loss what to do, i really dont know what more i can do and why it hurts so bad. its been 2 months already and its just getting worse. i included an x ray from a few days after the incident, i hope you can see it. your input would be much appreciated!! thanks chemi WWW.WWWW.WW

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

As per your history there might be delayed union or nonunion at fracture site in 5th toe which is the reason of pain. other reason is neuralgia pain. I need to see fresh X-ray of foot anteroposterior and oblique views. Please also share your old X-ray's for comparison. I will guide you for proper treatment based on X-ray diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Jayesh Vaza,
