What Causes Pain In Incision Area After Hernia Surgery?
My husband had hernia surgery 3 months ago and he had a vein where there shouldn t have been one...the surgeon wasn t expecting it and he cut it..when surgery was over he told me what had happened...My husband is experiencing severe pain from where the incision was and thru his back...What could be the cause?
It can be a sign of nerve damage during surgery but for reassurance you should get him reviewed by a neurosurgeon and may need to have nerve conduction studies and detailed local sensory and motor nervous system examination. For pain using OTC analgesic like Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen alongside Gabapentin can be helpful.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
