What Causes Pain In Feet With Diabetes And Nerve Damage?

While in the shower my wife s feet start to hurt and peel. She says it is painful. She has many health problems: type 2 diabetes, nerve damage (she has a stimulator implant to help with the pain), and lots of other problems. This is a new problem...any suggestions? Thanks

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

Your symptoms seem to be related to diabetes neuropathy.

I recommend taking prescription painkillers such as Pregabalin to relieve the symptoms.

I also recommend to use an antifungal cream for local application at the feet.

The hygiene of the feet is very important.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
