General & Family Physician, Dr. Priyanka's Response
Hi,
You may be experiencing pain during defecation and smelly stools due to an infection or inflammation in the gastrointestinal tract. Macrobid is an antibiotic commonly used to treat urinary tract infections, but it may not be effective for other types of infections.
It is important to see a healthcare provider for an evaluation and appropriate treatment. Additionally, unprotected sexual activity can increase the risk of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), which can also cause similar symptoms. It is important to discuss your concerns and any potential STI risk with your healthcare provider.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Priyanka's Response
Hi,
Painful defecation and foul-smelling stools are not related to difficulty starting to pee. These symptoms may indicate a problem in the digestive system. The pain could be due to an anal fissure, hemorrhoids, or inflammation of the colon.
The foul smell of the stool could be due to an infection in the intestines, such as a bacterial or parasitic infection, or it could be related to the person's diet. Seeking a doctor for an accurate diagnosis and proper treatment is important. Taking Macrobid, which is an antibiotic used to treat urinary tract infections, may not be effective for this condition.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
