What Causes Pain At The Base Of Skull?

Hi, I am on the fourth day of a pain on the right side of my head, at the base of my skull. Today I noticed it is swollen too. I get migraines, but am not having light sensitivity or sound sensitivity. Additionally, this is not responding to treatment as my migraines do. What are the possibilities of what this could this be?

Hi,

First of all, you should do an CT brain to know the nature of the swelling you have noticed. There are some types of migraine without light or sound sensitivity. After doing the CT brain, we can know the correct diagnosis and treatment for you.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Hello,

First of all, you should do a CT Brain and a CT on the sinuses to exclude a focal lesion. Some type of migraine does not associate with light or sound sensitivity.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
