Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a special needs daughter 20 years old that is experiencing abdominal pain through most of her abdomen. It is very tender and is getting worse by the day. She isn t able to completely explain how much discomfort she is in. We had a CT that showed some swelling in the lymph nodes and her blood work came back ok. We have another CT scheduled but I am really concerned with the growing discomfort. She is having regular bowel movements.
Pain in abdomen appears to be due to mesenteric lymphadenopathy.
The causes of mesenteric lymphadenopathy are large, ranging from reactive hyperplasia to infection to lymphoma. However, CT will be helpful and further investigation may be done for tuberculosis.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
