I have pain or an uncomfortable feeling in the pelvic area. I m 60 yrs old. At 30 I had to go to hospital at 30 weeks pregnant because my pelvis separated. This corrected itself after my son was born at 40 weeks with no problems. Over the past several months I have felt this pain and realised it was the same as then.I had a hysterectomy also at 31 yrs and this included cutting and tying 10 varicose veins in the pelvis. I haven t had problems with that since.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, I understand your concern. Pain & discomfort in pelvic area can be due to various causes like- constipation & bloating of abdomen/ urinary bladder symptoms/a fibroid uterus, ovarian cyst/ Pubic symphysis dysfunction. * you should get examined /investigated to find the cause. * looking at the past history you have pubis dysfunction seems to be the probable cause. Please get it confirmed from your doctor. Apart from pain killers prescribed by doctors you need to make few life style changes to manage it ..like... Brace pelvic muscles while performing work that causes pain/ prefer to sit & work/ avoif carrying, lifting/ avoid twisting/ taking a pillow between legs while resting in bed. - Take calcium & vitamin D supplements as per doctor's advise Thanks.
