hi i am 25 y old pregnant female (7 months). i have burning pain in my chest(left side) left shoulder and left upper arm. i have to apply pressure on my shoulder to relieve the pain temporarily. i am currently on esomeprazole, iron supplyments plus calcium and vit-d supplyments and take paracetamole for pain. is this pain due to brachial plexus compression due to breast enlagement? what should i do to get rid of this situation?
I understand that you have a burning pain on the left side. The common cause of this pain is the growing uterus pushing the stomach up and leading to acid reflux. Other cause may be iron induced gastritis, chest pain related to heart problems.
If the pain is due to acidity, you must stop the paracetamol as it will increase the acidity. Also stop the iron for a few days till the pain is controlled. You are already on anatacids. Just take frequent small meals low in spices and fat. Avoid fruits and meals that are sour or bitter. Drink cold milk in small quantities. Do not lie down immediately after meals. Get an ECG done to rule out any heart problem if the pain is persistant.
