What Causes Nausea, Shivers And Anxiety After Drinking Alcohol?
When I drink even just a few glasses of alcohol. I feel fine to begin with but after around an hours sleep I wake up with severe nausea, shivers, shakes and a real anxiety feeling. This will last for approximately one to two hours and will then just disappear. It is an extremely horrible feeling. What could be causing this? It began around 18 months ago I am a 31 year old female

This happens.
As alcohol (a sedative) wears off, there is a reaction in the opposite direction (activation). With mild/moderate amounts it is like a panic attack and is a very common cause of mild hypertension (fixable). With a bit more, it is a hangover. WIth a lot more the withdrawal can have seizures, even fatal ones.
