Hi,

The Doctors call on the next day of blood tests for epistaxis can be due to the following reasons. There may be raised values of bleeding time, clotting time, prothrombin time or low platelets, one of these being the cause of epistaxis. The main reason can be due to medicines like Aspirin or others that cause changes in coagulation profile. May be blood thinners or so. Hence your brother should see the Doctor immediately and consult other specialists as would be advised say for example the Hematologist.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
