What Causes Low WBC Count?

I was told that my white cell count came back as 2.8. I was on steroids for a week last month and I have been under a lot of stress and only sleeping 5-6 hours a night. I am also gluten and lactose intolerant and have Hashimotos and IBS. Could any of these issues be the cause of the low white count?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

First of all, it's sad to know what you had been going through lately. Based on the history you have shared, you need to rule essential vitamins deficiency secondary to malabsorption due to gluten and lactose intolerance. vitamin b12 and folic acid deficiency can cause leukopenia that is decreased blood counts.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
