Geriatrics Specialist 's  Response
Hi,
In patients who had thrombosis like previous myocardial infarction or stroke (cerebral infarction), the INR needs to be maintained at a higher level.
A target level of INR of 2.0 needs to be maintained. It can vary between 1.6 to 2.5.
Anything above can increase risk of bleeding and below that will increase risk of thrombosis /clot formation.
She should try to maintain her mobility and control her blood pressure, as being bed ridden or uncontrollable BP increase risk of thrombosis.
Any further queries, happy to answer again.
