What Causes Light Spotting 18 Months After Delivery?

Hi there. I am 18 months postpartum, and have not yet had a period. I have been having very light pink and brown spotting, as well as the usual period symptoms, but have not actually started bleeding. I am very bloated and uncomfortable, and just want it to start.

Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. It is common to have prolonged amenorrhea during lactation, however periods usually resume after 6 months of childbirth.
Such a prolonged amenorrhea can be due to hormonal disturbances like hypothyroidism etc and it needs to be investigated for, so that proper treatment can be done.
Spotting can be a sign that your periods are resuming.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Wishing you good health.
