What Causes Lack Of Appetite And Profuse Sweating While On Aspirin?

Hello - The symptoms started last Friday, we had been to the zoo on Thursday. BY midday Friday I went to bed feeling achy, tender and exhausted. As the days progressed this did not change. I have had no appetite - everything tastes metallic. My tonsils are slightly swollen. I frequently cycle between severe chills and intense sweating. The sweating has become more or less none stop in the last couple days. The condition seems to be worsening. I have taken aspirin to help with the headaches and hot bathes to help with the aching. Please advise.

Hello,

Your sweating may be due to infection of tonsilitis which may lead to episodes of fever with intermittent sweating.

After fever, if you use aspirin you may get sweating due to decreased body temperature. It may be due to hypothyroidism or hypoglycemia or hypotension or electrolyte imbalance etc.

Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Avoid cool drinks and freeze water avoid smoking and caffeine drinks. water vapour inhalation and salt water gargling thrice a day for five days.

Use tablet Amoxiclav twice a day for five days. If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
