Then suddenly then Dr. S toped that medicine and put me on some lighter medicine. There result was that they infection occurred with very serious condition. There Dr. Again put me on the itratop 100 my. 2 tab twice daily and nizral cream for 4 days and then gradually reduced then dose. Now he has put me on fluconazole 100 mg once daily with picon cream. Now they condition is that symptoms of fungal have almost been disappeared but there is etching. Doctor says that it is due to their side effect of using steroid cream. General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Severe fungal infection can take 4 to 6 weeks to be treated.During and after completion of anti-fungal treatment, itching can occur. During this period, antihistamines should be taken regularly along with anti-fungal drugs. I would suggest you to take Cetirizine or Loratidine once a day at night to reduce itching. Soothing agents like aloe vera gel or calamine lotion can also be applied locally twice or thrice a day to reduce itching. Personal hygiene and improving body immunity is essential to prevent further infections.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
