What Causes Itching In The Urethra After Unprotected Intercourse?

So about a week ago, my boyfriend and I had unprotected sex. Shortly after I noticed that the skin above my urthera was slightly itchy and burning. My urthera feels normal as usual but it s just the skin above it that is irritated and I m not sure why or how to get rid of it.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
This occurs due to urethritis, an infection of lower part of urethra. This is very common after having sex mostly caused by friction.
Advice
1.     Syrup alkaline citrate 2 teaspoonful three times daily for 1 week
2.     Ciprofloxacin 500 mg every 12 hours for 5days
3.     Drink 4 – 5 liters of water daily
4.     Do not hold your urine. Urinate when you feel
5.     Wipe from front to back after bowel movements
6.     Urinate after having sex to flush bacteria
7.     Use K – Y jelly during sex for enough lubrication if vaginal dryness is a problem
8.     Investigations
