What Causes Itching At Joints Of Hands, Feet And Elbow?

My husband is suffering from itching at his joints - knuckles on his hands and feet, elbows, knees, and groin area. It really seems to be triggered by eating and we thought it was a wheat/oat allergy. The allergist has ruled out any sort of allergy. This has been going on for about three years now. The area has small hive-looking bumps and the itching cannot be eased by scratching, but it deep. He has also suffered from what I would describe as IBS, especially when he eats in the morning (typically cereal or bagel). The only thing that seems to help is benadryl, but that makes him too groggy to keep taking.

Hi,

Hives or urticaria can occur after a meal, better to do an allergy profile and start him on antihistamine.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
