General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Irregular menstruation can happen for many reasons. The first to rule out is pregnancy, thus it is recommended to have a pregnancy test.
If the pregnancy test is negative, then some blood tests can be done to find the cause. These would be testosterone, DHEA, progesterone, estradiol, prolactin, TSH.

I hope this answers your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
