What Causes Intermittent Vaginal Bleeding Along With Insomnia?

Hi! I started having some issues with spotting a few days ago but it has become very heavy so I pretty much feel like I have my period even though it s only been 2 weeks since my last cycle. Here is some of my history: I am 19 years old. I have been on birth control for 2 years (TriNessa). When I was 13 I had an ultrasound and was diagnosed with Poly Cystic Ovary Syndrome, however I was quite overweight and was told that once I lost weight it will go away. I am at a healthy body weight now (I am 5 4 and weigh about 134 pounds). I have not had acne for a while however it seems to be returning. I have slight cramps in my abdominal region which sometimes extends to my back. I have had very difficult bowel movements (constipation) for the last few weeks. I have had insomnia for almost two years now. I have noticed that I am gaining weight even though I am eating well. I have also been more anxious than usual and have recently had to start seeing a therapist every few weeks due to depressed feelings that I have been having. I believe that it is PCOS, as I seem to have a lot of the symptoms but want a more expert opinion. Thank you!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thank you for contacting healthcare magic.
Polycystic ovarian syndrome is diagnosed on the basis of following findings :
History of oligomenorrhea (decreased or absent menstruation) , acne, hirsutism (excessive hair on face & body), weight gain
Ultrasound pelvis is required for the diagnosis which shows multiple cysts (around 10) in an ovary. Following blood tests are needed to be done too : Serum testosterone, FSH & LH levels.
Hope it helps.
