What Causes Increased Chest Pain And Severe Stomach Aches?

Had a steroid Epidural injection last week. Getting increased chest pain and terrible stomach aches. The pain specialist prescribed Prevacid as a result that I may have side effects from the steroid. My chest muscles hurt as well. When I eat the pain worsens. Feels like I am being crushed in the chest. I am worried. I have never had this side effect before with the previous injections. Could something else be going on?

Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
By your history and description, possibility of gastritis and related pain is more.
But I think you might have gastric ulcers because you feel pain immediately after eating meals.
So to rule out this, better to consult gastroenterologist and get done upper GI (gastrointestinal) scopy.
If it is due to ulcers, you need to follow below mentioned lifestyle modifications along with drugs for better symptomatic relief.
1. Avoid stress and tension.
2. Avoid hot and spicy food.
3. Avoid large meals, instead take frequent small meals.
4. Go for walking after meals.
5. Quit smoking and alcohol if you have these habits.
Don't worry, you will be alright.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
