What Causes Hypo Active Thyroid And How To Treat It?
I have recently taken a blood test for my thyroid. My Free T3 level came back as low (3.41 and the range starts from 3.61). The doctor told me that I have a “Tired Thyroid” but would not prescribe medication just told me I need to loose weight. I need to know more information about this.\How does a thyroid become hypoactive? Is it curable? Are there things that make it worse? Is there different degrees of unbalanced thyroids, is a level of 3.41 bad? Do I need to take medication? What is the effects of smoking? Ive been reading that some people actually get an unbalanced thyroid after quitting. I have been having Green tea, nuts and drinking a lot of water to be healthy. I read online that a person with a hypoactive Thyroid should avoid these things. So what are foods that I should avoid and what foods are good for a hypoactive thyroid? Thanks in advance for your help.
This too much questions sir, am sorry I won't be able to answer all of it.. but to be short, you have to do some more lab tests to see what's wrong with your thyroid.. like TSH, FT3, thyroid immune globulins.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
