hello sir good evening, i am 14 years old and i had the symptoms of jaundice for last two weeks. on first day my bilirubin level was 1.42 and SGPT level was 76 but today it was 2.6 and SGPT 168. what may be the cause. i am feeling normal having no physical problems. kindly suggest.
First cause for jaundice searched for.... For that first do your peripheral smear examination and retic count with serum LDH estimation to detect hemolytic jaundice.... According to suspician then further investigation can be guided....
Second obstructive jaundice and hepatocellular jaundice should be distinguished.... For that investigate with...... -USG for detecting cholestatsis or gall stone like cause -serum lipase and amylase estimation for rule out pancrease involment -Urine urobilinogen that help in distinguishing two....
If viral hepatitis is under suspician then viral marker done....
Avoid alcohol if habit as it can affect liver....
