General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi dear. Thanks for writing on HCM.
Hiccups occur when a spasm contracts the diaphragm-a sheet of muscle that separates the chest cavity from the abdominal cavity.I were to suspect a mild stroke since it is associated with loss of sensation.I were to evaluate by doing a neurological examination and do a CT brain if necessary as soon as possible.Hope this answers your query.
