General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
I understand your concern and sorry to hear about your problem
Heavy bleeding at the age of 56 years could be due to ongoing endometriosis. polyp, endometrium and cervix dysplasia, endometrium cancer, fibroid.
I would suggest to consult the gynecologist and undergo reproductive hormone analysis. USG scan, endometrial biopsy/PAP smear to rule out the cause.
Specific treatment depend on the cause.
Bleeding can be reduced by progesterone pill/shot, tranexamic acid.
Take healthy diet with iron supplements
Drink plenty of water and maintain proper pelvic hygiene
Hope this may help you
