What Causes Heaviness In The Armpit?

Hi, I m fifty yrs. old and a mother of four. I have for the past seven months felt on & off a heaviness in my right arm pit. Sometimes it feels as if I m carrying something there. This can t be breast connected, can it? I think it s not because it s in the arm pit area not in the breast.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I understand your concern.

The symptoms seem to be related to a muscle strain.

I suggest to use anti inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen 400 mg three times a day for pain relieve.

I also suggest to use Voltaren gel for local application.

Cold compresses can also help in reliving the pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
