What Causes Heart Palpitations With Dizziness?

Hello, I have been having some 'palpitations' and feel slightly dizzy when they happen. I think I have had these on and off for a few years although recently they are a bit worse. I am probably worrying now and that is not helping! One of my sisters is on medication for a sort of 'extra heartbeat' - they had considered surgery but decided medication was the best idea. Can these things run in families and do you think I could be developing what she has?

I'm mentioning few familial causes of arrhythmia

1. Brugada syndrome.
2. Catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia.
3. Long QT syndrome.
4. Short QT syndrome.
5. Timothy syndrome.
6. Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome.
7.Arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia.
8.Idiopathic ventricular fibrillation.

But in your condition, it may be due to anxiety probably. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Avoid caffeinated drinks and alcohol. Please consult your physician/cardiologist they will examine and treat you accordingly.
