What Causes Head Spasms?

Hi, My son is 11 and is experiencing what I call head spasms he has had them for many years, but they have been seldom. They are occurring more frequently. Our Dr. just sent my son for an MRI. I was just wondering if you have seen this before and what it might be? thanks Stacy

Please stay with the doctor and await the MRI results. At the same time, there are rarer causes of such head spasms which need to be considered. Some of them are due to metabolic errors. An example is Wilson's disease, which is an error of copper metabolism. Please suggest this to his doctor if the MRI is normal or not going anywhere.
