What Causes Hard Breast With Sparse Urine Flow?

My mother in law is experiencing very restricted urine flow for the past two days. There is no fever or severe pain anywhere, but her breasts are very hard and hot. Is this an emergency situation? She is 81 ands is in relatively good health otherwise.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* The sparse urine may indicate urinary tract infection with or without narrowing of the urethra.

* The hard breast may be a hormone changes related issue, if there is no lump or else, you can relax for the same.

* For the urinary discomfort, if after giving more liquids, she does not urinate frequently then she must be taken to her physician for.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
