The CT scan for my 3 year old daughter found soft tissue within the right epitympanum without associated osseous erosion. The reminder of the middle ear cavity and ossicles are normal. She had ear tubes when she was between 10months and 18months. She has not had middle ear fluid since she was 10 months old. My question is: should I worry about the soft tissue in her middle ear?
Noted the history about your 3 year old daughter having middle ear tubes when she was 10 months old and now have a soft tissue growth in epitympanum. As per my knowledge this is not uncommon to develop such granulation tissues after insertion of tubes or so.
Since the ossicles are normal there is not much to worry. If required this can be scrapped if this is the opinion of her ENT Surgeon on complete evaluation. Surely medical management can be tried with antibiotics, decongestants and anti-inflammatory medications and multivitamins.
