What causes frequent urination along with lower abdominal discomfort?

I went to an urgent care center for frequent urination, lower abdominal discomfort and my testicles do not seem to be in the normal position, sort of drawn up. The nurse practioner was so set that I had a STD but I don t. I m pretty sure she thought I was lying but I m not. She gave me a antibiotic which helped but now my symptoms are back. She did a rectal exam and said my prostate was enlarged and has referred me to a urologist. She said I had prostatitis. My labs came back normal. I don t have my urology appointment until next week. My symptoms have gotten better but have no completely gone away. Now I have finished my antibiotic and the symptoms are returning. Is this normal for prostatitis?
