What Causes Frequent Swelling Of Knee Along With Persistent Pain?
hello dr, i am kaviya from tamilnadu i want to ask a question. my sister studying 1 st yr civil she is having problem in her left knee.the problem is oftenly it suffers swelling. she become unable to walk normally and a little pain.we started to treat for this from her 12 th age its self still no more recovery. doctors also cant find what will be the reason for frequent swellingand the length of the leg are also a little bit different.please dr can u please leave a answer for this question what will be the reason for that and is there any treatment for that?

Chronic swelling & pain in young age, she should be investigated for diagnosis. Investigations are hb, tlc, dlc, esr, blood sugar, synovial fluid aspiration & testing for biochemical &bacteriological study .in monoarthritis , gout septic traumatic or tuberculosis are the possibilties.in gout uric acd will be high in septic tlc will be high differential right in tuberculosis tlc will be notmal differantial will be to left esr will be high synovial fluid wbc will be more than2000 culture will be positive.. in tubeculosis esr will be about 80 dlc will show lymphocytes more than 30treatment will depend upon diagnosis if it is septic antibiotics according to culture and sensitivity if it istuberculosis then anti tunberculosis drugs will cure
