What Causes Frequent Diarrhea With Low Pulse Rate And BP?

My son was diagnosed with limited Wegener s at the age of 16.9 years old. He s doing okay as far as the disease staying limited to his sinuses. He s had one relape that was treated with Ritutxin. Our issue is that if he gets sick, had frequant diarhea he passes out (drops like a rock). His pulse is LOW (40-50) and his blood pressure drops to 70/40 range most of the time. He gets clammy turns pasty white. He has a Rheum tht he sees, his tests have all come back okay and everyone just passes it off as a syncope issue. We have seen a Neuro and he suggested Othrostatic Neuropathy...but no treatment or precautions. Granted he s 20 and doesn t take care of himself (like I would like him to) but he s healthy his last episode was with my mom after just walking around the house...

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood your concerns.
Wegener's granuloma is local condition that usually affects the nose and is sort of a autoimmune disease indicating a larger picture of associated problems in the body even at an young age.
The attacks of getting low pulse and low blood pressure at such an age can be syncope if the causes of such an occurrence are ruled out by the following way.
Get an opinion of a Cardiologist as heart can have a problem that can cause such a problems. Full cardiac evaluation by Echocardiography, EKG and any other studies will indicate whether there is any problem and treated accordingly.
Also needed is the precaution that once he get such an attack he should sit down or be in a sleeping position.
Should not be alone anytime and all the friends and relative be told about such a problem and taught the things to do when your son gets such an attack.
