What Causes Fluid Discharge At The Incision Site Of Hernia Operation?

My father has got operated for Hernia 20 days back. He is a diabetic but the sugar level has been kept in control. But even after 20 days, the doctor is still advicing him to come for dressing and there is a minute water like liquid is comming from the place of operation. Is this normal or should we see take any other steps. If so which Hospital / doctor is specialized for treating a hernia / hernia operated patient in Chennai. Plz help!!!

Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum.
There is still oozing from the sutures of the hernia repair. It suggests some infection, probably anaerobic infection, or left over suture of the stitches.
You may need to have the culture and sensitivity of the discharge to select the antibiotic to be used.
Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
