I think I have the flu. Head full eyes watering, sneezing, cough Came down with it last Fri. Had a temp of 100.1 until Saturday. Felt perfectly fine Saturday no temp for 24 hours went out Sunday came home around 3:00 pm & my head started filling up, sneezing, etc. No temp but am really wrung out. How long does this last & is there any medicine that would help?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

We will try to help you in the best way possible. First of all it's sad to know what you had been going through lately.

Based on the history you have shared, it can be due to upper respiratory tract infection or viral flu. You need to have steam inhalations and saline water gargles to help with symptoms.

Antihistamines like Cetirizine or Loratidine can be used for symptomatic relief. OTC analgesic like will help with associated symptoms. Antibiotics may not be needed at this moment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
