What Causes Feeling Of Heartbeat In Left Ear?

Sometimes it sounds like my heartbeat in my left ear and now whenever I yawn or even pull on my ear it sounds like the twang of a rubber band. Plus I m having real issues with eyelid lubrication, which may be a side effect of whatever is going on. From what I ve read this is some sort of ear infection. What should I do?

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

Usually in glu ear or eustachian tube block it may hear like heart beat in ears. But glomus tumour in the middle ear or hypertension may also present like this. This is called pulsatile tinnitus. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. avoid cool water and ice creams. Please consult with your ENT specialist he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
