I am very tired, lost my motivation, cry frequently, can t loose weight. Recently been getting night sweats. I have ad a full panel blood test, but nothing was out of whack expect my iron levels. I was diagnosed with severe anemia. When will this go away? When will I be back up to speed with my iron levels? Could something be wrong?

Hello,

1) It takes anywhere between 4 to 6 months or longer to correct anemia, depending upon the severity.
2) Presence of anemia does cause tiredness and lack of energy. Excess tiredness can cause night sweats.
3) Apart from taking iron supplement, which may have been prescribed, increase the intake of green leafy vegetables, organ meats, and take additional protein supplement.

Since there is no mention about your Hb%, age, weight, height and whether you exercise it is difficult to give any specific guideline. Depression may need an antidepressant drug for a short period.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
