What Causes Faster Heart Beats And Sweaty Palms During Night?

Last night I had an increased heartbeat, sweaty palms, couldn't sleep till 4am, not sure what's going on. I felt a sharp pain in my heart, and my left arm would hurt randomly. I stayed up till 4am calming myself down. Is this a health problem? Or an anxiety attack? I'm not sure.

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

I would explain that your symptoms seem to be related to anxiety or a panic attack.

Anyway, if these episodes keep repeating, I recommend going to the ER for a physical exam, a resting ECG, cardiac enzymes, thyroid hormone levels and blood electrolytes.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
