I am not on any medications, although I do not jog I am in good shape physically...190 lbs 53 male. 5 foot 11 inches. I lead an active life style. Enjoy my work and find it challenging. General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello.

I am sorry to hear about your symptoms. Being exhausted and tiring is difficult. Since you are now free of cancer and your blood work is fine, we can rule out certain common conditions.
1. Anemia - but I assume your hemoglobin is good as its commonly included in the blood work.
2. Hypothyroidism - A thyroid profile with TSH and free T4 will confirm it.
3. Heart condition - certain cancer medications cause sligjt weakening of the heart muscles - called cardiomyopathies. This holds true if you get breathless on walking certain distances or climbing up the stairs or have swelling of the feet. Do get an Echocardiogram if not already done.
4. Chronic fatigue syndrome - it is quite common. It is not a psychiatric condition, but a physical one. The exact cause and how it works are not known but cognitive behavioral therapy has shown promising results. Also, alternative medicine and acupuncture claim to have treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Iven Romic Rommstein, General Surgeon
