Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
Generally, you gain weight when you eat more than you work. That is, energy from food you eat is more than energy you use for your daily activities. The excess energy will be stored as proteins in muscles and fats in adipose tissues. Some common causes of weight gain may include: genetic factors, junk foods, food addiction, certain medications, inactivity, some diseases like
hypothyroidism, PCOS, Cushion's disease,
Insulin resistance.
Weight gain may be prevented through controlled diet and regular physical exercise. Your Nutritionist may help you with nutritional advice. If you have no success with these home measures, you may see your Doctor to investigate for the above mentioned diseases
Painful legs could be related to your weight gain or not. This could be as a result of too much strain/stress from your activities given your weight.Other causes like
arthritis,
soft tissue infections etc should however be eliminated.
You may take a pain drug like
ibuprofen if the pain is serious.
Hope my answer will help you
Best regards
