What Causes Excessive Weight Gain And Facial Hair?

Hi. I have recently put on 15kg over one year. My periods stopped around the time I started gaining weight and I am getting more hair on my face. Also I have had sweet tasting fingers when I ve tried to diet. Am I possibly starting with diabetes? I have been to the doctors and all my blood results were normal.

Hi.
As per your case history of weight gain and facial hair, my advice is -
1. You may be having hypothyroidism and hormonal imbalance.
2. Go for the investigations like thyroid function tests, serum testosterone to find the cause.
3. You need life style modification like eating less fatty and carbohydrates in diet, take more green leafy vegetables.
4. Start a regular exercise like swimming or jogging.

Consult a physician with relevant investigations.

Thanks.
Dr. Harshit bhachech.
MBBS, DDVL.
