What Causes Excessive Tiredness And Sleepiness?
I always feel extremely tired. For the last several years, I have frequent episodes (1 - 2 times per month) of sleeping 20 - 36 hours with no interruption except to use bathroom a couple of times. No food, no drinking. I have had thyroid checked and it is always normal. I am diabetic but sugar is fairly well regulated. Is there anything that can explain this excessive tiredness? You should get checked other causes of weakness as below.
_Sgpt, Sgot estimation to exclude liver disease
_serum calcium and vitamin D estimation to check it's a deficiency
_serum urea, creatinine estimation to rule out kidney disease
_CBC to exclude anemia
If cause not clear than neurological examination and EMG or NCV like further investigation need to be done.
