What Causes Excessive Sweating While On Lisinopril And Simvastatin?

I am a 64 year old female, on medication for HBP and cholesterol along with pain medication for CDDD. I have unexplained head sweats, and upper body sweats (chest and back). Most noticeable around hair line on right side, sweat will actually drip off me in droplets. I have started taking Black Cohosh and it has helped, but I m wondering if there is an underlying health condition or drug interaction. Meds are Lisinopril, Simvastatin, Metoprolol, Meloxicam, Venlafaxine (for neuropathy), HydrochlorothiazideHydrochlorothiazide, and Lidocaine 5% patches.

Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
Excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) may be primary with no underlying medical cause or secondary when it can be attributed to an underlying medical condition. Primary hyperhidrosis occurs when the nerves responsible for triggering your sweat glands become overactive and call for more perspiration even when it's not needed. It may be hereditary.

Secondary hyperhidrosis may be caused by the following medical conditions:
-Medication side effects, such as sometimes experienced when taking some beta blockers like metoprolol and antidepressants like Venlafaxine .The combined side effects of these two drugs may give you such symptoms. However, other causes are still possible.
-Diabetes
-Endocarditis
-Fever of undetermined cause
-Generalized anxiety disorder
-Heat exhaustion
-HIV/AIDS
-Hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid)
-Malaria
-Menopause
-Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma
-Obesity
-Stress
-Tuberculosis
With all these possible causes, i will suggest you see the Doctor for evaluation.
While there is no cure for primary focal hyperhidrosis, there are ways to help control the symptoms. Some of these measures may include: Antiperspirants, Iontophoresis, Medications, Injections of Botox....
I will suggest you see your Doctor for evaluation.
Hope this will help
Best regards
