What Causes Excessive Menstrual Bleeding And Cramps?

Hi There, Is there any way to stop my periods forever? I get excessive bleeding with clots which leads to immense pain! During periods, I also get an excessive dripping sweat drenching my clothes (not during nights). The sweat is accompanied by strong cramps and weak legs (shivering and no strength to walk). Would it be viable to undergo uterus removal due to such issues?

Hi,

I would have been glad to know your age. however whatever age you are hysterectomy is not the answer. You need to do some basic blood test along with TSH and an ultrasound to know the cause of increased bleeding if all come out normal you can think of having a medicated intra-uterine device which will prevent you from getting your periods.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Diviya Arun,
