What Causes Excessive Bleeding And Pain Post Removal Of Glass Splinter?
I got glass stuck in my foot today it wasn t deep at all but before I knew it the glass was covered in my blood and my hands feet were covered and already on the carpet so I had taken it out and I was still bleeding a lot why did I bleed so much?!? Should I be worried.? PS. After this all happens it hurts when I walk on my foot it hurts and that area looks a little swollen is this normal.?
Hard to say without seeing it. Foot punctures often bleed a lot simply because fluid runs downhill. The pressure on the vessels is higher the lower you go. There can be bleeding problems from too little platelets (found with a CBC) or with a problem with the liver (found with blood tests for clotting). And mostly, that isn't the case. There is still risks of tetanus and infection. These would not show up immediately but one should have the risks addressed promptly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
