What Causes Excess Vaginal Discharge?

Hello. I have only had one sexual partner about a year ago. He s in the military and says he dosent/didn t have any STD s. He said he had a blood and urinallis test. I am worried because I have white discharge that is chucky, sometimes clear. Sometimes from my from my uretha as well. Also, red small bumps will reappear on my inner thigh. Hardly any. usually after I shave. No pain but they do itch. I discharge a lot,but now more so. The other day clear discharge literally dripped out of my vagina. No foul oders. please help.

Hello,

You are discharging excess vaginal fluid that is clear. It has no foul smell. You are in sexual relationship since a year with a military man. You have also developed small bumps in the inner thigh that are not painful but itchy. Excessive or watery discharge may be a sign that you have vaginitis, your vagina is infected or inflamed.

The commonest cause of vaginitis is yeast infection, vaginal dryness, lack of estrogen, which can happen with aging and menopause. You are suggested to use water based lubricants during sex. Take food rich in vitamin E, calcium, magnesium for a better sex experience. you can also take supplements. Yeast infection is treated with a single-dose oral medication, a one-time, single oral dose of fluconazole (Diflucan).

Applying creams, vaginal suppositories like miconazole (Monistat 3) and terconazole in the vagina are effective. However, the bumps that you are developing in the inner thighs may be due to organisms transferred during sex like trichomoniasis vaginitis, chlamydia or gonorrhea. Viruses like herpes simplex virus (HSV) and human papillomavirus (HPV), you are suggested to get clinically examined by a Gynae, get STD tests, etc., done. If STI is detected you will be treated with antibiotic and antivirals.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
