What Causes Elevated Potassium Levels With Loss Of Weight?
Recent bloodwork showed elevated potassium level, PSA of 2.7 (base has been 1.4 but elevated to 2.4 in past with prostatatis) and I have unexpectedly lost 15-20 lbs in past 60-90 days. Going in for follow up work this week. Possible effects of this combination
Dear Friend. Welcome to HCM. I am Dr Anshul Varshney. I have read your query in detail. I understand your concern. Pottasium levels are unrelated to weight loss. However, most of the elevated pottasium reports are due to laboratory error. But it is required to get evaluation for weight loss and elevated pottasium levels. I advise you: 1. Kidney function test 2. Hemogram 3. Liver Function test 4. Xray Chest 5. Ultrasound abdomen 6. Urine r/m Review with the reports This is my best advise for you based on available details. If you have any further query please ask me. Stay Healthy. Dr Anshul Varshney, MD
