What Causes Elevated Heart Rate?

Not feeling good since Christmas...feel tired, resting heart rate has gone from 65-69 to low to mid 80s... Blood pressure, normally in teens over 65-69 ...running around 127/78...feeling anxious... Don t smoke...only drink wine on occasion...not on any medication...no major illnesses...usually pretty healthy...not sure what s going on...called my dr. Can t see till Monday

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have dizzy spells,stiff neck and headache. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like damage to heart tissues , abnormal electrical pathways , anemia , stress , smoking , drinking too much alcohol , caffeinated or side effects. I would suggest you to con sult cardiologist for proper examination without any delay . Doctor may order ECG , TMT , complete blood profile and check vitals . Doctor may prescribe vagal maneuvers , anti arrhythmic medication , catheter ablation , drugs like diltiazem or recommend pacemaker .For now take proper rest and do mind relaxing exercises like yoga and meditation .
