What Causes Elevated Heart Beats?

Hi there its salman my heart beat really fast its like between 121 to 133 I don’t why I don’t have any stress this rhing never happened before and no one in my family had this problem i have done the ECG and blood test and the doctor said that everything is normal just take some rest fee days you will be alright

Thanks for contacting your health concern, and since some of the investigations came normal, you should consult with a Cardiologist to exclude following symptoms:

i. Anxiety is the commonest cause of elevated heartbeat but first one should exclude:
. Hyperthyroidism (Thyroid function test)
. Arrhythmias (ECG & Holter monitoring)
. Left Ventricular Hypertrophy (Chest X-ray)
. Diabetes (blood sugar to exclude hypoglycemia)
. Anemia (Hemoglobin level)

ii. If pulse & heart appear normal then the most important cause will be anxiety and will be managed accordingly.

iii. Avoid excess of tea/coffee
. Avoid alcohol & smoking
. Avoid mental strain.

iv. Take a Medhya Rasayana or mild tranquilizer at bedtime.

v. you may ask for electrolyte, fluid and glucose values
