when i breath out my ear keeps popping outwards and it hurts. its been a week and not better. but i dont have the itrratation of an ear infection.when i plug my nose to keep it in from popping it pops as soon as i let go of my nose. what is going on? lol
Ear pain and popping for about a week indicates inflamed eustachian tube remaining patent and thus easily allows air to pass from nose to middle ear. The primary cause is usually in the nose and pharynx like inflammation secondary to viral or bacterial infection, sinusitis.
Hence I would advise you to first of all, stop blowing your nose. Take an anti-inflammatory like Ibuprofen if it suits you. Consult an ENT surgeon for clinical examination, ENT endoscopy and have investigations like CT scan of nose and sinuses, tests of blood. Get an additional treatment as per the findings. It takes time for such problems to resolve, hence, continue treatment till cured.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
