What Causes Dryness In Throat?

I am taking foracart inhaler 200 and tiova inhaler 2 puffs each daily for the past three years for my asthma. My throat often especially becomes dry. Is it due to the inhalers ? In the annual health check up my bone density is also shown as high risk in the neck of femur bone. Is it due to the steroid in the inhalers as I lead a active life style, I am 63 years old.

Hello,
Dryness to tissue is a common side effect of inhaler use. Make sure that you are well hydrated. You can gargle with Non alcohol rinses or warm salt water. Make sure vitamins are balanced to avoid deficiencies. Make sure to take Vitamin B12 to help healing your irritated tissue . Avoid irritants such as alcohol, smoking, and acidic foods.
Dry mouth products such as rinses, gum and toothpaste may offer relief. Biotene is a brand name you may consider. Chewing xylitol containing gum may be helpful. These products can be beneficial to the entire oral cavity.
Thank you for your inquiry.
